“Towards the Danube the composition is closed by a pergola, which is going to function as a green wall and filter when plants have climbed it.
On the one hand this pergola physically and psychically closes the space thus creating an intimate bay. On the other hand it provides space for the patio and the balcony, which mark transition between outer and inner spaces. Finally it plays the symbolic role of a reception “gate”, “pier” or “lookout tower”. As a landscape sign, it signals the front of the built-up territory from great distance and reacts to the spaciousness of the landscape.”
